the way to low carb dieting

I was looking to shed about twenty pounds in a month or so, so I picked this up. It really helped me to know the essentials of low carb dieting and it really did help me jump start my weight loss. It’s a hard program to follow, but I found it does work, though I don’t reckon I’ll stay on it indefinitely. [...].

Wow! I was amazed how quick I received my order from Wolfcreek Books.
I don’t have a lot of time to read so I really delight in listening to the subjects I am interested in.
I am a believer in Atkins. I had used it years ago and lost 60+ lbs. This book takes it further and teaches you how to change your life style to keep it off.
I am in need of the motivation.
This book got me to take the plunge into Induction!

After 2 months of studying low-carb diets, I picked up this book and read it cover to cover. It motivated me to finally follow the Atkins way of eating to the letter and commit to the Induction phase of Atkins. I highlighted passages and bookmarked the menu section, which I read everynight during my two weeks on Induction. I was able to stick with the program while living in a house with two other adults who eat an extremely high-carb diet. The book helped to know the program throughly, so I could clarify my new way of eating to others. I lost 10 pounds during the two weeks, and I am now in the On-going Weight Loss phase. Atkins is now my way of eating for the rest of my life!

Hello!
The book is simply wonderful. Atkins has been the only diet that has allowed me to stay healthy and energetic while losing many pounds.
While on the diet, amazingly, I felt no hunger. This was a drastic departure from how I felt on other diets. A huge factor in any diet is this: is the diet practical enough to maintain compliance for the long term?
My answer was yes. It allows so many tasty foods. It has been the only diet that has truly worked for me. The pounds just start falling off, just like the book says.
Now, to address the review made by “Why follow Dr. Fatkins? The Dead & Obese WeightLoss Guru, May 15, 2004 Reviewer:”wallis25″ (USA).”
The thought that Dr. Atkins died of a heart attack is bunk. He died of a HEAD INJURY. The heart attack tale is an urban legend. [...]
…and read down further. Upon admission to the hospital, he was a very healthy 195 pounds. His 60 pounds of weight gain while in the hospital was due to his organs shutting down, and him retaining fluids.
Please, in the future, check your assertations with reality and don’t waste people’s time with rumors.
But I digress. For all of you out there – go Atkins today!

I like this book. I read Dr. Atkins book from cover to cover which is very vital, but this book is a fantastic brush up or even for a person who haven’t the time to catch the vision and need the basic details quick. Its GREAT for INDUCTION phase, it cannot replace the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, but it is straight to the point for the program. I like it.

This is an brilliant book that will help you get started in Atkins. If you have ever seriously considered dieting with Atkins, this is the book to get. It will tell you all you need to get started, without going into the nitty gritty of nutrition, and enough information to show how and why it works. The book also comes with a list of questions that will help you as checkpoints of where you are before starting each phase of the diet. The book also includes many recipes you can try while on the diet, so that it not only lists what you can or cannot eat, but help you devise ways of preparing the food so that you will not be bored with the diet. I highly recommend this diet, and the book is a must as well. I needed to loose 21 pounds ASAP. With Atkins, I lost it in the span of 40 days. Of course, everyone’s body and metabolism are different, so your results may vary.

I bought this book because I was curious about the Atkins Lifestyle. Atkins did help me learn about how to eat excellent carbs, found mostly in veggies. It was a excellent intro to the information I would need if I wanted to live the Atkins liefstyle. But, it is onlt phase 1 of 4. The Atkins Revolution would have been more helpful. Also, both this book and Atkins Revolution I am told have incorrect information. They say to count 3 cups of veggies – this is no longer how it works. Net arbs must be counted instead of cups to make sure you are getting enough nutrients and excellent carbs in your body. I used the webste a lot to help me and the USDA website for finding net carbs.
I recommend Atkins for anyone who is looking to safely lose serious weight. I am not a huge girl, but I lost 7 lbs during Induction. The only trick with this “diet” is that it isn’t a diet at all. It truely is a lifestyle. Bounce back to terrible habits and stuff your face with cupcakes and other junk for a day or a few and I gained back 3 lbs. It takes dedication!! Do you have it?

To answer some of the other reviewer critics, I say that no diet
regimen is complete without a program of exercise to aid in
optimal metabolism.
The Atkins Low Carb regimen is sound science because the author
very carefully points out the food groups highest in carbohydrates. Such foods as pastas, breads, cakes, bagels
and most wheat products are high in the carbohydrate count.
Fresh fruits and veggies are much lower. In my own experience,
I lost 25 pounds permanently by controlling the carbs and doing
nothing else. My regimen has included exercise for most of
my life. Atkins is not saying that we should eliminate all carbs.
He calls for a reduction in the carbohydrate intake.
A strength of this work is that it provides model menus for
emulation by dieters. Besides sensible dieting, it is prudent
to eat earlier in the day so that the food is digested prior
to bedtime. Meals at bedtime tend to aggravate the classic
middle-age conditions; such as, IBS, Crohns disease and many
other gastrointestinal conditions too numerous to list here.
This work is still an brilliant value for anyone serious about
weight control via sensible dieting routines.

I can honestly say that I did the induction program for three weeks straight and I combined it with a lot of cardio exercise and I lost 22lbs. I didn’t really use any of the receipes listed in the book instead I took the thought and made it my own. I just kept the carbs really low each day and cut out the sugar. You can’t cheat though. My co-worker started it with me and he would make exceptions here and there and he only lost a fifth of what I lost. My personal opinion is that the Atkins diet is fantastic for quick weight-loss but it should only be done for the small-term. Just make sure that you eat healthy once you come off the Induction phase and you won’t have a problem keeping the weight off (I haven’t had a problem yet).

Dr. Atkins’ New Diet Revolution contained far more relevant information than The Atkins Essentials. Frankly place, if you already have one of the Atkins books, don’t waste your money and buy more. All you need is one!

As one who had fantastic success with the Atkins diet, I would say without reservation that such success is possible if one follows the programme exactly as it is outlined in the original New Diet Revolution, to which I’d give six stars if I could. The Induction period (first two weeks) is clarified in depth in that book, and there is no need for a separate book to advertise products. In fact, the products are not only unnecessary (or no longer manufactured), but could sabotage the Induction period.
