Atkins Questions: How much weight will I lose on Induction?

or its sister question, “Can I lose XX amount of pounds by this date?” In this video, I respond to the other most well loved question by new people starting the Atkins Diet. I am always concerned when I see these types of questions in that the poster perhaps is looking for a quick answer to their weightloss problem. In my opinion that quick answers are often incorrect or temporary answers at best. Sure, it’s natural to have goals and use them to motivate you. It’s also natural to be curious to see how much you will lose on Induction (typically 5-10% of your total weightloss goal). Where it goes astray is that it focuses on the weight loss as being the most vital part, and does not acknowledge the equally vital question of what do I have to learn during Induction. In the end, I hope everyone achieves their goal as quickly as they desire it if possible, but if not, I hope they realize how far they have come from where they were and are motivated by that rather than be negative about missing the date.
