The DVD Workouts
Each of the 12 highly diverse and intense DVD workouts focuses on either a specific set of muscle groups or a unique training technique.
- Workout One: Chest & Back. This superset chest-and-back-blasting workout emphasizes two classic upper-body exercises–push-ups and pull-ups–to build strength and develop shape. The combination of these two push and pull movements will help you burn loads of calories while simultaneously attacking, strengthening, and developing multiple muscle groups.
- Workout Two: Plyometrics. Get ready to go airborne. Offering more 30 explosive jumping moves, this intense cardio routine will keep you in the air most of the time. Plyometrics, also known as jump training, has been proven to dramatically improve athletic performance. If your sport involves a ring, rink, field, court, or track, this training will give you the edge. Just be prepared to bring it for a full hour when you leap into this workout, because there is no letting up.
- Workout Three: Shoulders & Arms. Nothing rounds out the perfect physique like a pair of well-defined arms and shoulders, and with its potent combination of pressing, curling, and glide movements, this routine will leave you feeling stronger and looking sexier. Whether you want to build muscle mass or just slim and tighten what you’ve already got, these targeted shoulder and arm exercises will give you the results you want.
- Workout Four: Yoga X. Yoga is a vital part of any fitness regimen, and is an absolute must for an extreme program like P90X. This routine combines strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, and breath work to enhance your physique and cool your mind. Yoga X will leave you feeling energized, invigorated, and maybe even a small enlightened.
- Workout Five: Legs & Back. Get ready to squat, lunge, and pull for a total-body workout like no other. - Workout Six: Kenpo X. Kenpo X was made to give P90X users a high-intensity cardiovascular workout packed with lots of punching and kicking combinations to improve balance, endurance, flexibility, and coordination. During this workout you’ll learn some of the most effective ways to defend yourself, while at the same time getting your body in peak condition.
- Workout Seven: X Stretch. Stretching is the one thing that will help you achieve a higher level of athleticism over a longer period of time. The X Stretch routine is an integral part of the program, as it helps prevent injuries and avoid plateaus. The extensive full-body stretches that make up this routine use disciplines from Kenpo karate, hatha yoga, and various sports to ensure that your body is fully prepared to meet all P90X challenges head-on.
- Workout Eight: Core Synergistics. Each and every exercise in the Core Synergistics workout recruits multiple muscle groups to build and support the core (lumbar spine and trunk muscles), while at the same time conditioning your body from head to toe. Loaded with a variety of fun, unique, and challenging exercises, this routine will get you moving in all directions to maximize your P90X results.
- Workout Nine: Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps. Packed with an array of moves that target both large and small muscles, this workout will do wonders for your upper body. In just one full sequence you’ll get a healthy dose of presses, flys, and extensions to push you to the brink. - Workout 11: Cardio X. This low-impact cardio routine can be used in a variety of ways to meet your P90X goals. - Workout 12: Ab Ripper X. The combination and sequence of movements in this unique workout taps into not only abdominal strength, but right core strength as well. The Nutrition Plot
Following the P90X nutrition plot is just as vital to your overall success as any of the extreme workouts in this program. Specifically designed to work in tandem with the P90X workout routines, this three-phase eating plot recommends the perfect combination of foods to satisfy your body’s energy needs every step of the way. P90X is not about quick fixes or miracle diets. It’s about selecting the healthy foods that you want to eat, and determining the part amounts that will provide your body with the right amount of fuel to excel during exercise. The P90X nutrition plot offers three phases. Phase 1 is the Stout Shredder, a high-protein-based diet designed to help you strengthen your muscles while simultaneously and rapidly shedding stout from your body. Phase 2 is the Energy Booster, a balanced mix of carbohydrates and proteins with a lower amount of stout to achieve additional energy for performance. And Phase 3 is the Endurance Maximizer, an athletic diet of complex carbohydrates, lean proteins, and lower stout, with the emphasis on more carbohydrates. Fantastic way to get in shape and have fun. I delight in the workouts by myself or invite some friends to come along and they’ve become hooked too. I use this as a supplemental workout at home in addition to running/cycling daily so it’s been an incredible boost to my overall fitness regime. Shipping/packaging was quick and hassle-free. I highly recommend this product to those who want to increase their fitness level and are not intimidated by some hard work and sweat! I especially like the YogaX program. Most of the exercises can be slightly modified if you travel and don’t have access to the minimal accessories required to still get a fantastic workout and stay on track.
If you’re looking for a fantastic change, this is it!

I have been a gym rat for years, just grinding out the same ole weight training and cardio routines and P90X has turned out to be a refreshing but challenging new exercise routine. I have tried a number of different programs over the past 20 plus years and I’ve got to say this has been the most enjoyable, yet challenging one yet. I am 30 days into this program and already feel and see a significant, positive difference in my body. I’m very excited about continuing on through the next two phases of the program. I highly recommend this program for anyone who feels they have hit a plateau in their training and are looking to shake things up bit!!

The product is fantastic. If you want a tough workout this is the product for you. It’s not for the beginner. If you follow the steps you will get into shape. It may take a small longer than the 90 days, some people need a small more time but you will see a significant difference. The workouts are fantastic, if you follow workouts how they are shown to you and push yourself then prepare for a transformation. I was never overweight, but a small out of shape, and after just a couple weeks I’m regaining definition and building muscle. The cardio exercises are fantastic too, I’m glad I finally chose to buy P90X. Don’t wait any longer if your serious about getting into shape.

The problem with this workout is you have to have the house to accommodate the pull up bar..high ceilings needed. Also Tony Horton is annoying and the music is dreadful. The DVD holder was ripped as well.
Best Hard Core workout Since U.S. NAVY & EOD, DIVE SCHOOL, & EOD EVERY DAY 2 Hour workout

This Is by far the Best work out to get and stay in shape that i have seen I a very long time. And the only one that even came close Was the U.S.NAVY’s EOD. Diver program that was the Toughest one could ever Imagine and this Is no cake walk either so you better be in real excellent shape before you Even reckon of starting this Entire program from Beginning to end Because it will take you to the Limits of your Endurance if you take it to the Extreme that it has to Offer.
So YES by far this the Best DVD work out one could do at home with all the equipment that I says you need and If not you better buy it before you even start.
And for the Protein Drink has to be at least 40 Grams, and the recovery drink as well right after the workout of 20 Grams Protein Is a must have to promote the proper mussel building and recovery (30) min. within the end of the workout is required to build on and keep in shape. or it’s not worth doing if you do not do it correctly.
All of the For-mentioned Items can be bought locally and at a cost a lot less that they advertize. so Bring it on and Get ready to get ripped and stand by it’s a real fantastic work out that you will delight in and the Rewards are dramatic in the results you will achieve from it.

Anyone, who dedicate nearly 2 (TWO HOURS!!) hrs a day to workout for 90 straight days, will be ripped, P90X or not. That is logical. This program is nothing special, it is excellent but not magical.
I didn’t need to lose weight, I bought this because I wanted to be more toned. As comparison, I had better result doing 30 Day Shred (25 min a day) for the whole month, than doing lengthy P90X Lean for the whole month. Unbelievable.

Started using it 3 weeks ago. It’s the most intense fitness program I have done in 20+ years. It is well place together and simple to follow. The only downfall is how time consuming it is, but without putting in the time there would be no results.

Like it! It’s like having your own personal trainer, and the workouts never get dull. The workout log and nutrition guide keep me more motivated than I thought. I like how this program “teaches you how to fish” rather than just giving you a fish. It’s very empowering and something I know I’ll use for the rest of my life. One of the best investments I’ve made.

This is a really fantastic program! First off you need to be committed and in pretty excellent shape to start with because this is hard. Tony Horton really knows his stuff and is very entertaining so the workouts flow very nicely. My wife and are doing the program together and are doing our best to stay on his schedule. After completing 6 weeks we have both seen major changes in our physique. We are both stronger and have more energy during the day. The workout is based on variety and that part makes you look forward to each different workout. So if you want to get in really excellent shape and are committed, this is the best workout I have done in 15 years of exercise. We had trained in the past with a personal trainer and this is really more fun and I believe we’re getting better results for overall excellent health (strength, stamina, flexibility, balance). So if you are ready for an intense workout this is certainly for you so “bring it”.

Let me start off by saying, I do not nor do I rarely like to buy infomercial -products. It wasn’t until a friend of mine tried it and told me how fantastic the product was and I should consider buying if I really want to tone up.
Well I now own it and have to say it really is a fantastic product.
Keep in mind I am 140lbs 5′ 5″ and deem myself to be in excellent shape since I do a lot of cardio and ab work-outs. The first week, I could barely keep up with the workout. My muscles hurt like hell and I was always fatigued. It wasn’t until week 3 that I finally was able to go through each workout without having to stop to take a break. If you follow the workout you will see results. I started seeing results within the end of week 2 (this was even with me taking breaks and sometimes substituting the kenpo exercise with an elliptical machine workout).
Now I am in week 4 and the core work outs are kicking my butt. I hope to take a picture at the end of this week to compare with week 1.
I also bought the drink. [...]. It is really excellent, it does taste like a orange creamsicle. Two cons about it though: Its really sweet when you use the full two scoops and the bottle came with only 3/4 full of powder mix. I was really disappointed by that. I bought the drink from beachbody dotcom in case you are wondering.
