Nice and Simple
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar is quick and simple to place together. Once it’s assembled it takes just seconds to install and remove from nearly any door space you have in your house. It has been a while now, and the iron gym has been strong enough to hold every one I know regardless of size and has yet to do any type of hurt to my door frame.
What you’d expect
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is exactly what you’d expect from a non permanent pull up bar to use at home. Works fantastic in nearly any doorway. Simple to assemble. Grips are nice so that you can keep exercising without getting blisters or sore hands. Hasn’t hurt my wall or door frame. Would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for an simple solution to home fitness.
Don’t Hesitate and buy it

I was at sports authority looking for a chin up bar because i’m starting P90x soon. I saw the IRON GYM on one of the shelves. I didn’t know what to expect. It was only $30 so i said what the hell and did it. I got home and started assembling it and was very pleased.
Its extremely simple. there are five parts and screws, nuts & bolts come with but trust me they’re very simple to place in even with your fingers. a small wrench comes with to end the job too. It also comes with a safety wedge to place on top of your door frame so the iron gym top goes on that and trust me it helps. I place the IRON GYM on the frame and was pleased with the results. It stays right there no worries or anything. The max weight is 300 pounds. I weigh about 140 so it wasn’t really hard. It also fantastic for push ups and sit ups.
Go out and buy it now from your local retailer or amazon. Fantastic Product at a fantastic price.
Pleased with the Iron Gym Workout Bar
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The Iron Gym arrived on time, in excellent shape, and with clear, simple-to-follow instructions (although you don’t really need the instructions). It took me about three minutes to assemble it with the wrench that comes in the box. The Iron Gym is solid, well designed, and completely functional. Its different positions allow you to vary your grip to keep your muscles confused, a key to building strength. The Iron Gym doesn’t mar the door frame and stays place even without installing the safety clip.
The Iron Gym is a fantastic product at a honest price. (I paid $29.95.) I can’t do a strict hanging pull-up, but using the Iron Gym allows me to push off the floor a bit as I build strength. I am working up to be able to perform CrossFit’s workouts of the day (WOD) and the Iron Gym has really helped me work on a fundamental CF exercise — the pull-up.
Ok, doesn’t work on door frams of older style houses, many on Craigslist

So had to add a flange to my door frame because I live in and older apartment and the door frame was way too high. Also there are always a bunch of these on craigslist (where i got mine $15) since people who reckon they want to do some pull ups find out they can’t do pull ups because they are too stout.
Fantastic product. A++

Does what it says

Before you try you had better be in really excellent shape. You will hurt yourself if you don’t have excellent upper body strength already.
Most useful home gym equipment I’ve found!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Of all the exercise equipment (including dumbbells, swiss ball, exercise bands, etc.) that I have bought, the iron gym is the one that I use the most. It’s fantastic that whenever you walk by the door you can just do a couple of pull ups and get some reps in. The best feature is that it is portable in that you can take it off the door and it isn’t permanently attached to the door frame. The iron gym also comes with a set of instructions which show you how you can do sits ups and push ups with the device. Overall a fantastic design for a product with many uses.
Brilliant pullup bar. Solid and reliable.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I got this 2 1/2 months ago, and I have used it daily since then. I have gone from just 10 pull ups a day (in multiple sets) to more than 50 pull ups a day. Here are my impressions of this bar:
- Very simple to assemble. All that is needed is included in the package, and it only takes a few minutes to mount the bar.
- The bar is solid and reliable. I was a small leery to hang my weight from a door frame, but I have not had any problems. I suppose that as long as your door frame is solid you shouldn’t have any problem either. There is a retention clip that is used as a sort of security measure, by the way. All in all, I have full confidence in this bar now.
- It seems very well built, and I reckon it will stand the test of time.
- Versatility: You can use this bar to do pull ups (palms facing away,) chin ups (palms facing towards you,) and neutral grip pull ups (palms facing each other.) Not all bars have handles that allow you to do neutral grip pull ups, and this is certainly a plus, since when doing pull ups variety is vital (it will allow you to engage different muscle fibers in your back.)
I really have not used this bar for push ups or sit ups, but alone on its merits as a pull up bar, it deserves the highest rating.
Worthless

This product was very flimsy. The bolts were the incorrect length and the kit was missing washer’s identified in the assembly instructions. It broke the 1st time it was used ( I only weigh 215 lbs ). Went in the trash !!!!
Excellent for what it is

Just wanted to comment because this *did* leave marks on my doorframe. On the adjoining wall, the “point” of the bar wore away a layer of paint, and where the bar braces against the doorframe, the black foam padding grained into the paint and left a mark.
The box I bought (at a local drugstore) did not contain the “ab straps,” so I can’t speak to whether they are or aren’t included.
Apart from that, it’s a fantastic chin-up bar. Solid, holds up well, assembled quickly, supports my 180 lbs easily.
Excellent, but Not Fantastic
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
It works as advertised, but, in most doorways you can’t get your hands wide enough to do pull-ups as a beginner. The closer your hands are the harder the pull-up. Plus, the verticle grip-bars are just in the way. They seem to be right where my hands should comfortably be placed on the horizontal bar. So my hands are always too close together or too far apart.
its fantastic, works well

its fantastic, works well, u can do push up, pull ups, chin ups, dips, and situps with it.
simple to install!!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Iron Gym is simple to install and sturdy. Was a small skeptical that it would hold me (and my friends) since it was so simple to install, but it has worked without distress since we got it. Fantastic for the price and a excellent way to stay in shape, doing pullups or else pushups or situps. If you can’t do a full pullup, you can get a chair and try to keep yourself from dropping on the way down, that is what I started doing.
Another thing I was worried about was damaging my door frame. That didn’t happen either.
Overall, a excellent piece of exercise equipment.
Did not fit door in office or at home
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I tried to install it in an office in an academic center. The door frame was too small. I tried four other offices without success. At home, I was equally unsuccessful. Very possibly all these doors were of non-standard sizes but the fact remains that I could not use or install this product. That being said, I assume that it will fit some doors and the construction appeared very solid. I did have to return the bar to Amazon.
