Atkins Diet Recipes – Low Carb Bacon Beef Rolls

***Join the Atkins Diet Video Facebook fan page -bit.ly *** I wanted to make another Induction Friendly recipe, and what better way to extend one’s food budget than a meat loaf recipe. Most traditional meat loaf recipes have binders of bread crumb to hold it together and soak up some of the beef stout. They also can be a small dry on the outside as the center gets to the right temp. This recipe attempts to fix both of those concerns. The binder in this recipe is the cheese (cheddar and the Parmesan). The Parmesan really performs the same function as the bread crumbs did. The coating of bacon also helps keep the top from over cooking. This recipe is derived from a recipe at Linda’s Low Carb recipe site (genaw.com Ingredients 2.5# Ground Beef 2 eggs, beaten 1 Medium Red Pepper, chopped 1 Medium Onion, chopped 2 TBS Grated Parmesan Cheese 1 tsp Salt 1/4 tsp Pepper 2 TBS Worcestershire sauce 4 oz Cheddar Cheese 1/4 cup Low Carb Ketchup Makes 10 servings Per Serving: 304 Calories; 20.5g Stout; 24.1g Protein; 4g Carbs (.5g Fiber, 3g Net Carbs)

@11833105 They (red bell vs. green bell) are essentially the same. (1 cup equals 8g total carbs minus 3g fiber)

  3. 11833105 says:

is red bell pepper lower in carbs than green?

@andyy25 For most the limit is only one’s appetite. As the hunger passes, one should stop eating. That amount may be different for different people, so the general rule of thumb is when hungry eat. The rough Caloric ratios for someone in Induction phase are 65% Calories from Stout, 30% Protein, 5% Carbs.

So can you overeat stout and Calories, yes, but it is typically more hard to do than on other diets.

Kent how much stout is too much stout? same for calories? what would you recomend?

  8. andyy25 says:

Kent i was wondering how much stout and calories should you have daily? is their a limit were they are to much?

@jadeisback “no need to jump the gun and get offended..”
Reread my response and see who is jumping the gun. I simply said on a ketogenic diet – energy primarily comes from the stout you eat, and that in meat the flavor is in the stout. I also corrected the whole raise bp thing.

If you never want to eat pork again, I am pleased for you. For me and many, bacon is tasty and close to a gift from God. :-)

For health, pork has no negative impact. Sugar and refined carbs can’t say the same thing.

  10. jadeisback says:

@bowulf to each is own im talking about not using the pork…that is an option..and to me not having pork in over 25 years…it looks yucky to me…thweats all im saying..no need to jump the gun and get offended..
a person who eats a lot of pork opposed to a no pork eater….well we all know who is probably the healthiest….minus the Atkins diet….im just saying……..

@turbaki2 Unless you want to count sport-related injuries related to running marathons and basketball like sprained ankles made possible only due to energy after starting Atkins; otherwise, no. I have had zero diet related health problems.

  12. turbaki2 says:

did you have any health problems caused by the atkins diet???

    Yummy!!!

@jadeisback Well being that Atkins is a low carb, ketogenic diet where 60-70% of your energy comes from stout, I am having a hard time trying to find the negative in that. The flavor in most foods is in the fats.

As for raising your blood pressure, you do realize a high stout diet lowers one blood pressure and cures hyper tension in most people in a few weeks.

  16. jadeisback says:

    greasy and fatty looking….
    i eat no pork anyway…lol
sure you can use beef or turkey bacon..that pork is just too greasy..and will raise your blood pressure….

    That looks really excellent!

    @alkiller1992 Re: Ramadan
I would view it as similar to IF (Intermittent Fasting), and there are a number of people that do that for success. While not ideal (eating at least every 6 hours is ideal), it does teach you something about your body and may help lose weight.

As for Diet 7Up, if you can lose while drinking it (and the aspartame it contains), you can up to 3x per day. Make sure you are getting your water in as well. Check out my water video for tips how to help with that.

    Wonderful.
“Like tucking the kids into bed;;;” haha.
So you measured the Parmesan and eye-balled everything else?
Those few shakes of Worcestershire didn’t look like two tablespoons but my eyes have been known to deceive me.
I bet those meaty loaves are tasty,
Can’t wait for your next cooking video.

  22. bowulf says:

    @stinkyslinky432 Much appreciated!

  23. bowulf says:

@irishalpha Something as simple as this one is, it really is a excellent recipe. It is also very similar to my stuffed hamburger recipe too. (Chop up the bacon and patty). My kids like it that way the best as well.

  24. stinkyslinky432 says:

    Fantastic videos keep it up!!

  25. bowulf says:

@Beautifulmom073 No problem. I am glad to do it.
